Meet the doctor

Meet Dr. Anderson.

Discover Chiropractic is one doctor and one practice in University Place, Washington. When you come in, you see Dr. Seth Anderson. Every time.

He takes time to hear the whole story first: what hurts, when it started, and what you are missing out on because of it. Then he explains what he is seeing in plain language, so you leave knowing what is going on in your own body.

Care here is hands-on and conservative. No long-term contracts, no pressure, no script. If he does not think chiropractic is the right answer for you, he will tell you that too.

“I didn't build Discover Chiropractic because I wanted to own a bunch of chiropractic offices. I built it because I wanted to know the people I take care of.”

Dr. Anderson has been caring for University Place for more than 21 years, long enough that patients he adjusted as kids now bring in kids of their own. He and his wife Kristen are raising their three children here, and he coaches youth football in the same neighborhoods his patients live in.

Why people stay

What's different about a one-doctor practice

You're actually heard

You see Dr. Anderson every visit, and you're never rushed out the door. Your first visit is mostly conversation and examination, because most of what he needs to know comes from you talking, not from a form.

A plan built for you

Every care plan is individualized, including the financial side. Recommendations are based on what you truly need, not a standard package everyone gets sold. If chiropractic isn't the right answer, he'll tell you that too.

Actually from here

University Place isn't a market on a map. It's where the practice has lived for more than two decades, where families come back year after year, and where Seth runs into patients at the grocery store.

Dr. Anderson was extremely helpful and didn't try to push a care plan on me that I didn't see fit. He listened to what I needed and helped me leave the office feeling better than when I arrived. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Anderson for any chiropractic needs.

Michael V.

I'm pretty happy to have a doctor who actually listens to me and wants to help. I feel like he genuinely cares about people and doesn't just shuffle people through the door.

Amanda C.

Have been going to Discover Chiropractic for over a month after purchasing an introductory package that included a consultation, X-ray, exam and four adjustment sessions. Dr. Anderson is friendly and supportive of my back health issues. The location is clean and easy to find. It is all about communication with the provider and your trust in their care. What led me to Discover Chiropractic was the great reviews from his patients, so now I am sharing my experience to help others take that first step.

The philosophy

Turn the Power On

Your nervous system runs everything, how you move, how you heal, how you feel at the end of a long day. When the spine and the joints around it stop moving the way they should, that signal gets interrupted. Chiropractic care is about clearing the interference so your body can do what it already knows how to do.

That's not a claim that chiropractic fixes everything. It's a way of thinking about health that starts with function instead of symptoms, and it's why Seth spends the first visit figuring out what's actually going on before he touches anything.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does a chiropractor do?
A chiropractor evaluates and treats problems involving the spine, joints, muscles and how the body moves. At Discover Chiropractic, that usually starts with a conversation about your symptoms and history, followed by an examination of how you move and where you're uncomfortable. From there Dr. Anderson may use hands-on adjustments, soft tissue work, movement recommendations or a referral to another provider when that's the right call.
What happens during my first chiropractic appointment?
Your first visit is mostly listening and examining. You'll tell Dr. Anderson what's going on and what you're trying to get back to doing, he'll examine how you move and where the problem shows up, and then he'll explain what he thinks is happening and what he recommends. If chiropractic care isn't the right fit, he'll tell you that directly.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
In Washington you do not need a referral from a medical doctor to see a chiropractor, you can schedule directly. Some insurance plans have their own requirements, so it's worth checking with your plan.
Will I be adjusted during my first appointment?
Not always, and that's on purpose. Whether you receive care on the first visit depends on what the examination shows and what's appropriate for you. Dr. Anderson would rather understand the problem first than rush a care plan that may not fit.
Do you take X-rays?
Yes. When Dr. Anderson determines X-rays are appropriate for your case, they are taken in-house with same-day turnaround.
